Not madly impressed
My problem isn’t with the actual item itself but that quite a lot of the items are little bits most children, in my experience, wouldn’t bother with, bits of coral and things like that. I think more sea creatures and fewer bits would be much more attractive to young children and also make this better value for money. The mat is nice and bright which is definitely a positive. It’s also a decent size. I’d like to see the creatures included more on a scale with the others but that’s not likely to cause too many problems with the playability of this item. I just like the toys children play with to be educational even when they’re not sold as such (for example my dad taught me to read with everything that had words in or on it and not just with books). Having one creature smaller than another when it’s actually bigger in the real world could, not necessarily would, mislead a child. Other than that it’s not too bad a toy, just not great.

Not really a coherent set
First impressions of this toy were not helped for me by the way it arrived. The set comes in a cardboard display box but this came delivered in just a brown paper bag which clearly offered little protection to the contents and the box arrived squished in one corner. The contents were not damaged but had I ordered this as a gift for a child’s birthday, in wouldn’t be happy gifting it in that condition. The contents of the box are a collection of plastic figures and felt playmat. There are 22 figures but 10 of these are just bits of seaweed or coral (two of which don’t even have a base to allow them to stand up – see photo). A few bits of this type of scenery to give a feel is okay but nearly half seems a bit disappointing. The remaining dozen are different types of sea creatures; the modelling is ok but not really high quality. There’s no attempt at consistency of scale – the seahorse, lobster and whale are all the same size. I realise getting anything else in scale with a whale is a bit impossible but the whole thing feels like the seller just sourced a bunch of figures from any which where and shoved them in a box and cashed it a set! Then there’s the playmat. I was expecting something like a representation of the sea bed: sand, seaweed, coral, maybe a shipwreck. The sort of thing a kid could put the figures on and move them around in a game (a bit like those mats of roads you get to play with toy cars on). Instead, it’s just a big, busy picture – more something to put on a wall than to use to play on. Look at the photo – the figures just get lost on there! So some of the figures are okay and kids will have some fun playing with them but, as a ‘set’ or ‘collection’ it is poorly thought out and assembled.

Figures very popular, mat less so
This is a review of the JoyKip sea animals play set. This was priced at £13.99 at the time of writing the review. The set includes 22 models of sea creatures of which almost half are bits of plant/coral. My children have basically ignored these pieces. They are big fans of the creatures themselves, and these have gone in the bath to be bath toys. As they are 4 and 2, they don’t mind the mix in sizes of the models or how realistic they are. As the grown up, I find them a bit disconcerting with the crab bigger than the dolphin or shark.I would say the models are probably aimed at older children as they are edges that are a bit more pointy on some of the animals which could cause scratches if not played with carefully. The set comes with a “playmat”, a felt square with an underwriter scene on it. Honestly, my kids haven’t even looked at this. It’s not like one of those town maps you can use with cars, it’s just a very busy picture. I don’t think it really adds to the set.So you’re basically getting 12 marine creatures for £13.99, which seems a little pricey to me.

Sea creatures
Nice set of sea creature toys and a play mat. Good selection of animals and no tiny pieces that could give choking issues for younger siblings.I’d buy from this brand again.

Lovely sea creature playse
The media could not be loaded.
This is a lovely sea creature playset. My four-year-old daughter enjoys taking a trip into the big, blue ocean. There is a good amount of figurines and includes a play mat, giving you everything from dolphins, sharks, sea horses, crab, starfish and more.I love the bold colours and attractive designs which look vivid and realistic. The ocean play mat sends her imagination wild.My daughter also loves taking these toys in the bath with her, it makes bath time so much more fun.Overall, a fun and educational play set. My daughter was able to identify the ones she knew about and was eager to learn more about the others.

Fun for children who like the sea world
The media could not be loaded.
My toddler absolutely adores anything to do with the sea. She was delighted to play with the shark, dolphin and other sea creatures. The sea pictured mat brings it all more to life. It’s great for role playing, improving imagination and creating scenarios. The mat is soft to touch. The sea animals are fairly well made and there’s quite a lot of them, a good selection.Overall we recommend this set.

Ok set
This is an ok set for the price, some of the colour choices are a bit odd and the size comparisons are way out too, but if you have an aquatic animal fan these are alright if your on a budget. Most of these do have pointed bits, perfect for poking in eyes so just be aware of that if your buying for younger children

Great fun for little ones.
This set includes a large play mat and twelve different figure all with a sea theme. There are lobsters, crabs and dolphins and various other species of the ocean. The shark seems to be the favourite by far. The play mat is surprisingly large and our two little ones have had great fun this afternoon.Educational and informative, this teaches little ones the different species of sea creatures whilst combining play time. A brilliant buy this is a great quality toy offered for sale at a brilliant price.

Cute Set
Let your child explore the underwater world while playing. Good quality, play mat made of soft non-woven fabric instead of thin PVC, high simulation of underwater animals and plants.

Sharp edges and too much corals
The sea animals look nice on the pictures and I was excited that I will have them for my kid.Inside the box there are 12 sea animals, 10 corals and one play mat.The animal toys looks very nice but some of them are having sharp edges – specially the sea horse. If there are more animals and not that much corals it will be good as they are a bit useless. My kid likes the animal toys ,but he doesn’t like playing with them on the play mat.I think it is just the material of the play mat that he doesn’t like. The sea animals are good in size and very lightweight.Overall it looks nice set, but as my kid plays only with the sea animals and there are sharp edges on other toys – I can’t give it 5 stars. The price of £13.99 is too high for what you get.Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.

Good quality toys for a fun bath time.
This is a nice selection of bath toys for kids. There are different colours and designs, however, they are all sea creatures which is quite fascinating for kids. It is fun to play with them in bath time and for the amount you receive they are well priced. There is also a mat included which they can use to play with.Good value for money, and I recommend it.

Kids love it
This is a novel idea. There’s a good selection of pieces plus the mat. It’s great fun for the kids and easy to roll up and put away. Of course you may start out with a seascape but after a while other toys will mingle in and you’ll have buses and Barbie in there too. It’s a good idea for educating the kids in sea creature identification as well. My two granddaughters love it and just listening to the stories they invent as they go along is priceless.

Excellent teaching and learning resource for preschool and EAL.
We have been using this set, which comprises of a good quality mat and a bunch of figurines – all of a very decent quality, as a teaching and learning resource for primary school kids learning English. This is a great way to teach sealife vocabulary, colours and prepositions and more if your imagination works well. We ask kids to place various sea creatures next to, in between…, on top of, etc. various objects displayed on the mat or placed on it previously. Kids really enjoy playing with it and we believe it is great value for money! Can recommend!

Nice toy for ocean lovers

Good for learning but the play figures are bit hard for kids
JoyKip Sea Animals Play Figures look overall ok for the price. It is good for learning and kids enjoy playing with the figures which are not very common. The set is useful to teach kids about those sea creatures. The matt is of decent size and quality. The figures are made well with decent details. However, about half of the figures are plants and corals. The proportion of the animals isn’t there at all.The plastic material of the figures is very hard. Kids should be monitored while playing.

One of the favourites
I got this for when our 2,3,and 4 year old grandchildren come to visit. I thought at £13.99 it seemed good value for a large mat and a selection of large sea creatures.I was concerned that the 3 of them wouldn’t fit round the mat, but luckily the 4 yr old wanted to play with nannys new spaceship instead so the 2 and 3 year old had it to themselvesAs I suspected they both wanted the scary shark so off I went to get the container of animals I have in the spare room to get the great white shark I had in there, unfortunately they saw all of the other animals in the box and wanted them in the ‘underwater as well’ so as well as the lovely underwater creatures that come with this sea mat we now have a Tiger a TRex, a Viloceraptor, a scorpion and a host of other safari/ farmyard animals. But I’m not bothered, if it keeps them quiet and stops them squabbling then they can put who they like in their ocean! This set is already good value for money at £13.99 without the mat, with the mat it’s a definite must have in every nannys toybox.Recommended

Not sure
I like the idea and the quality of how realistic the animals look, but I dont like how sharp they are, some of them has a sharp edges or corners, and I wouldn’t wish to step on one of these. 🤔

Cheap and cheerful.
Cheap and cheerful. Most are poor quality with mediocre finish.Bright colours.Out of proportion.Shark and dolphin have rough edges at mouth and could catch on little fingers.

ON THE MAT OR IN THE WATER
Two or three youngsters can happily play with/on this under-the-sea playmat with its colourful images coupled with the array of underwater toysincluding Sharks,Lobsters and even a dolphin to name just a few.The bonus is, the toys are also ideal for bath-time fun.

Educative and lovely
This is a really nice Educative Sea Animals Play Figures, they are lovely, the variety is very good and the colors are nice.I like it and is good for kids, especially because they have to understand how important are sea animals for us.But I would say is more suitable for older kids than smaller ones because of the shape of some animals, but a part of this is a lovely play set and I recommend it.

OK quality, my 4 year old liked it!
This set includes a variety of plastic sea creatures and a sea themed mat to create your own under water world. My 4 year old really likes it, it’s really great for his imagination and he likes to bring them along to the bath at bath time as well. The set came in a nice colourful box and so would make a great gift as well. I would recommend it. I think it’s reasonably priced as well.

Set of fairly large plastic sea creatures and plants with a playmat
Priced at £13.99 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, this is not badly priced for a set of fairly large plastic sea creatures and plants, and in addition you receive a large mat too.The plastic figures and mat arrive in an attractive cardboard box suitable for gifting. There are 21 sea creatures and plants including a seahorse, starfish, seal, stingray, walrus, whale, sea turtle, lobster, seaweed and coral. The figures are not to scale e.g. the starfish and lobster are as big if not bigger than the walrus. The colour on the plastic figures is quite bright in the main and perhaps not overly realistic in some cases, but I am certain this will not bother most children. The overall quality is good but not stellar. The mat is approximately 80cm x 70cm and shows an ‘under the sea’ theme. It is a felt-like fabric and feels thick and relatively durable. Again, the overall quality is good but not stellar.I am relatively pleased with the set (at its current price) and so I am happy to recommend.

A great ocean set but some sharp bits
The quality of this set is really good and the colourant of the sea animals are really good unlike other sets where they are coloured randomlyLove the fact this set includes coral as most sets don’t and for an educational purpose it’s important when learning about the ocean/reefsThe size proportions are really off but it’s not a big deal as this is the case with all similar animal sets. The detail is good and the mat is really good photo quality images.Lots of different textures within this set which is great for sensory seekingThe sea horse is extremely pointy and sharp unfortunately. I would say it’s too sharp for little hands hence taken some stars away, I’ve had to take the sea horse out of the set for this reason

Great set of sea animals
This is a lovely set containing lots of small different sea animals, my 3 year old loves animals and I’ve found this very good to help him identify what animals are what and even to go in to more detail of the type of ‘breed’ each animals are! They are fine she’s okay, some of the fin are a little harder than I would of like, but doesn’t seem to bother my toddler. Just don’t step on them.In the set you get: Turtle, Seal, Octopus, Blue Dolphin, Whale, Sea horse, Lobster, Crab, Shark, Starfish, stingray and seal lion. This rug has an interesting cartoon dinosaur park with bright colours. The size of the mat is 32.5″ x 27.5The mat is a lovely touch however in my house due to the texture of the mat it’s a magnet for dog hair. Do it doesn’t get used.Over all very happy with this set

Could have done with less plants and more fish…
JoyKip Sea Animals Play Figures for Boys and Girls – sea creatures toys for children with Shark, Dolphin and, Play MatCurrently priced at £13.99 for this set….This set is different to others I’ve had this one is ocean world …with 12 sea creatures and 10 weeds and plants….and a underwater felt mat….Arrives in a nice colourful box…..The mat has a lot of sea creatures on it and although colourful it’s not bright…The 12 plastic sea creatures are a nice mixture….but plastic….and some look cheaply made and cheap…Lots of different coloured creatures…Two of the weeds have not bottom so therefore will not stand up….Ideal for teaching little ones about the sea world….

Detailed
This is a fun sea set for Bath time or everyday use. The toys are actually pretty detailed! You get mainly animals with some scenery bits too, and of course the mat ad a play area. Perfectly safe for use in water, or just the lounge. Toxic free so the occasional nibble is perfectly safe too. Maybe a pound or 2 pricey for what they are, but then I guess that explains the detail versus featureless sea creatures!

Not the best product but it is fun.
I quite like this product. It isn’t the best quality. The animals and coral aren’t the best. They are quite flimsy and the coral Matt behind is very thin and doesn’t feel good quality however my daughter has played with this none stop. The coral mat is bright and fun it has lots of different corals and fish on it. Fun for children to identify fish.It comes with 12 fish/mammals they are bright fun colours you also get 9 plants which are all fun cookies different shapes. They animals are a good size they aren’t small they do look somewhat realistic. The mat is a good size.Although this is not the best quality. It does provide fun and learning about sea creatures.

Cute but can be dangerous!
This set is wonderful for teaching children all about sea animals. It comes with many animals of different sizes, lots of corals and seeweed and a play matt. The thing I don’t like is how sharp some of these toys edges are. Like the shark has literally so sharp teeth my toddler almost managed to cut herself..
